What facilities do you offer?

The club features 2 indoor ranges, both 50'. The main range is 10 ports wide and has a Caswell target carrier system. This means you can change you target while others around you continue to shoot.  The backstop is made of a steel liner covered in ballistic media which absorbs the impact and virtually eliminates any ricochets. The auxiliary range has 6 ports, a target carrier system  and a sand backstop. This range is generally used only when matches are being run on the main range or the main range is full. Click here for photos of the facilities.

When is the club available for use?

Upon acceptance as a member of MVGC you will be issued a coded keycard which will afford you 24 hr/7 days access to the range. Occasionally maintenance or matches will preclude use of the main range in which case the auxiliary  range will usually be available. On rare occasion both ranges may be closed for maintenance, advanced notice is usually posted at the club and will be posted on this site when possible.

How can I become a member?

Membership nights are held on the 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. Bring a completed application (located here) to the club on one of the aforementioned nights. If you don't know a member to sponsor you call the club and make arrangements to come to a match or other event, chances are very good you will meet a member willing to be your sponsor. You MUST be a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association), NRA membership applications can be accepted by the club with your MVGC application and fulfills the requirement. (Annual proof of NRA membership is required as part of the MVGC membership renewal process). You will need a check (NO cash accepted any circumstances) for your initiation fee ($200.00), 1st years dues ($100.00) and NRA membership ($35.00, only if not already a NRA member. Bring your NRA card or mailing label for your NRA magazine of choice as proof of  NRA membership). Annual dues are currently $100.00 per year, bills come out in Sept for the following year. Upon acceptance you will be given an orientation, briefed on the range rules and club policies and be issued a keycard coded with your membership # which gives you full 24 hr/7 day access to the facilities.

Why does the club require me to join the NRA in order to be a member?

Many years ago the club membership voted to have 100% enrollment of members in the NRA. The club believed and still believes the NRA is our best chance to retain our 2nd amendment rights. While some may feel the NRA isn't perfect, it is still deserving of the support of lawful firearms owners in the country. We strongly recommend that members also consider a membership in GOAL (Gun Owners Action League) a Massachusetts organization which lobbies local politicians on Mass firearms legislation.
