ANNUAL TURKEY SHOOT

MVGC  held it's annual Turkey Shoot on Sunday Nov 23rd from noon to 4pm. Kids and adults alike had a great time!

18 Relays were sold with 75 targets per relay that means 1350 lucky targets were shot! That's more than anyone could remember in the history of the Turkey Shoot!

The range was in great shape. Recently a work party installed new 1/4 " plate steel from the 21 foot line to the backstop. Lenny Cafarelli and crew installed new flooring tiles from the ports to the backstop. Jim Limardo installed new sound deadening in front of the ports with some help from Jack Kelly and Sam Farrington. There are also new mats to absorb ricochets. Dave Watson and his crew stripped and polished the floors in the ready room, class room and behind the ports. Great job and big thanks to everyone that helped out.

Susanna and her family helped make the day special for all of us. They had arts and craft projects for the kids and made cookies and cupcakes (which the grown ups liked at least as much as the kids did!) Thanks for all your efforts Susanna!

Jim and Dolly Limardo and family did their usual stellar job running the office, distributing targets and handling the Turkey Shoot Raffle and sales for the Fall Gun Raffle. They sold almost 150 Gun Raffle Tickets! Tony Melius won the Turkey Shoot Raffle, couldn't have picked a nicer guy!

Range officers John Barry, Jim Bruno, Rich Sica, Tom Mcinerny, Joe Garbarino and crew did a great job keeping everyone safe. All in all it was a very enjoyable day at the club If you weren't there, don't miss out next year!

All are welcome, range officers will be on hand to supervise the young shooters on the range.

All shooting is done at Lucky Targets at 50 feet.

Club supplies all rifles, targets, ammo.

Personal rifles can no longer be used due to a hazard encountered last year.

Lucky targets below show the scoring. Each block touched by the bullet is added to the total score

$1.00 / per relay, winner of relay gets a $20.00 gift certificate to Stop and Shop for a turkey (or whatever else you want to use it on)
