ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND ELECTIONS 2009

The 2009 Annual Meeting and Annual Elections were held at the club on Thurs March 5th. Only one seat was contested, former director John Barry moved up to Vice President and his vacated seat on the board was open.  Five people ran for the four seats. All 3 incumbents (Rick Adreani, Jim Bruno and Joe Garbarino) were re-elected with Susanna Cortese capturing the open seat.  Most people that have spent anytime at the club will recognize Susanna and her warm, friendly smile. Susanna participates in Bullseye (GBPL), PPC, and High Power shooting as well as donating her time as an NRA Certified Instructor to the clubs Pistol School. Congratulation Susanna!

The Second Annual Henry Gray Memorial Award was presented at the meeting. Henry was the last surviving Founding Member of MVGC and quite a character. When the time came to decide on a recipient, I had a member in mind and began polling the officers and involved members as to their choice. Almost to them man they all mentioned the same name. This years recipient of the award is long time club member Bob Terrell. Bob has served as Co-Chairman of the membership Committee for quite a few years now. His hard work helps preserve our membership base, keeping the dues affordable for everyone and allowing us to improve and maintain the club's facilities. Bob shows up and participates in every single work party the club holds, even if it's only to fetch things and provide moral support (along with his unusual sense of humor!). Congratulations Bob, we all love you and you deserve it!
