PRO RATED DUES TABLE  

Add 35.00 to these totals if NRA membership is needed

Remember that the pro rated amount includes the remainder of the current year and the entire following year. This is necessary because dues bills go out in Late Aug or early Sept and you may be joining the club after the dues bills for the following year have been prepared and or mailed.

1)       Membership Application must be filled out COMPLETELY.

2)       Minimum age 18 years. You may be required to produce a birth certificate or active MA drivers License.

3)       An active MA license to carry or FID card is required. If you do not have a permit an un-opened, clean probation record may be accepted. You can get information on obtaining a record check by calling 617-660-4600.            

4)       If you are not a US citizen, you must also produce and active Alien Registration Card and a clean record check, (see above)

5)       All MVGC members are required to be members of the NRA. Bring a copy of your current NRA membership card or the label from a current issue of you NRA magazine. If you are not an NRA member you can fill out an NRA application from the MVGC membership committee and pay the additional amount of $35.00 for 1 years membership in the NRA. NRA membership proof will be required with each years MVGC renewal and it is the responsibility of each member to renew his/her NRA membership.

6)       Applicants must be sponsored by an active MVGC member.  Call or email for more info on finding a sponsor.

7)       Fees: Initiation fee $200.00   1st Years Dues $100.00   NRA Membership (if needed) $35.00

Members joining Jan thru June will pay dues of $100.00 for the remainder of the current dues period (Dues run Jan thru Dec)

Members joining July thru Dec will pay $100.00 dues plus $ 10.00 for each month remaining in the current year and will be paid for the current year and the following year. This is necessary because dues bills go out in late August. See accompanying table for amounts due at application.

8)       A $35.00 discount to the initiation fee is available to all graduates of the MVGC Pistol School

9)       ONLY Checks and MO’s made payable to MVGC are accepted. NO CASH will be accepted!10)  

10)   New members age 65 or older (must show proof) will have the initiation fee waived.

11)   Members in good standing that have attained 20 year continuous membership (no breaks) and reach 65 years of age will get free dues for the remainder of their lives. Eligible members must request this, it is not done automatically!

12)   Dues run calendar year to calendar year i.e. Jan 1st to Dec 31st yearly.

13)   Dues bills are mailed in early September. Dues payment must be returned by Oct 30th. After Nov 1st a $15.00 late fee is assessed, after Dec 1st a $30.00 late fee is assessed. If not paid by Dec 31st renewal will not be accepted and you will have to re-apply for membership and pay the initiation fee and dues again.

14)   Members must achieve a score of 80 or better out of a possible 120 points and demonstrate safe gun handling skills during the required shooting ability test.  Prospective members that are unable to achieve this basic ability will be offered special coaching to help them complete the membership requirement. Prospective member will shoot 6 rds for a revolver and 6 from a semi-auto at 21 feet. The club will provide the test guns and ammo.

If you agree to the above and wish to be considered for membership in MVGC, appear at the club on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7pm. Bring both pages of this form and a Check or Money Order payable to MVGC for the correct amount as indicated above. A Safety Class that explains MVGC rules will be held that evening. This short class is mandatory  before your key card can be issued.
